| The Shallows A magnificent nature reserve area offering many possibilities. Walking, swimming, crab catching, mussel searching(and eating), bird watching and perhaps coming across with seals and all of this on board one of our well fitted out sailing yachts. Thoroughly enjoying the salty water, sand, wind and beautiful skies. The splendour gives a feeling of freedom. The phenomenon of ebb and flow forces you to adapt to the rhythm of nature.
The inhabitants of the Waddenzee live on this rhythm as twice a day the high tide flow brings plankton-rich water from the North Sea . Due to the shallowness of the sea it warms up in summer time very quickly which causes algae and seaweed to grow rapidly.
The birds, fish and seals are very happy with this. Perhaps you yourself will be glad with this pleasant water-temperature when you want to pull your boat over a shoal or when you want bring out an anchor. |
